How should teens manage their weight?

Teenage years are challenging in many ways. It is the time of great changes in life, and with these changes comes stress, uncertainty, and fear. For example, the pressure to look a certain way. Youth with weight issues may feel unhappy about themselves and try to lose weight by cutting out carbs, skipping meals or fast. These strategies should be highly discouraged as any diet on which you don’t eat enough calories and important nutrients can be harmful.

To lose weight safely and for good, while increasing your well-being eat healthy meals and snacks. Choose a wide variety of healthful foods including lots of fruits and vegetables. Cut back on processed food and drink water instead of sugary drinks. Secondly, regular exercise can help you lose weight, and will also make your child feel healthier and better about themselves.
