What motivates kids to exercise?
Children who are physically active, are more motivated, focused and successful in school. Mastering physical skills builds confidence at every age. How can you make your child physically (more) active?
Here are 3 ways to motivate kids to get exercising:
Choose activities developmentally appropriate for your child's age: Keep your kids motivated to exercise by finding age-appropriate activities in which they can participate.
Give kids plenty of opportunities: Kids like routine but it’s also important to mix it up and add variety to the workouts.
Focus on fun: Inspire their interest in physical activity by an emphasis on fun! The key is to encourage physical activity that your child enjoys.
It’s not just about getting active and physically healthy. Physical activity is also beneficial to the mental health of a child. It allows children to have a better outlook on life by building confidence, managing anxiety and depression, and increasing self-esteem and cognitive skills. Exercise also releases endorphins, which correlates to a happy child.
